- Irrigation scheduling. Types of irrigation schemes, methods of irrigation.
- Components of surface irrigation scheme, micro-irrigation methods (sprinkler, drip)- design features.
- Drainage system-components and design. Irrigation water quality, salt balance, soil salinity problems & remediation.
- Farm irrigation management schemes- conjunctive use, deficit irrigation, water allocation schemes.
- Socio-economic, institutional and environmental aspects of irrigation systems. Performance indicators- water production functions, economic productivity.
